About

Meet Ellan Shelton

Your guide to all things messy and heartfelt.

Hi, I’m Ellan—oncology nurse, mom to three wonderfully neurodivergent boys, backyard chicken keeper, creative spirit, and firm believer that life is rarely neat, but it’s always worth showing up for.

Living with ADHD and facial paralysis has taught me that perfection is overrated. These days, you’ll usually find me juggling family life, tending a garden, painting something that may or may not turn out as planned, trying a new recipe, or convincing myself that I definitely need just one more craft project.

As an oncology nurse, I’ve witnessed both heartbreak and incredible resilience. As a mother, I’ve learned that raising children who experience the world differently requires equal parts patience, humor, flexibility, and fierce love. Somewhere between the chaos, the creativity, the muddy garden beds, and the chicken coop, I’ve discovered that beauty often lives in the messiest places.

This blog is where I share honest stories, hard-earned lessons, creative adventures, and the occasional laugh at my own expense. If you’re navigating an imperfect life, raising extraordinary kids, embracing your quirks, or simply trying to find joy in the everyday, you’re in good company here.

Welcome to my corner of the internet.

Ellan’s Motto?
