If you’re looking for a trendy, fun lifestyle blog dappled with my latest recipes and highly edited photographs of a highly edited life, then allow me to redirect you to some of my favorite mommy blogs.  The ones where chicken coops, homemade meals, and beautiful children dressed in handmade clothes all co-exist in glossy photographs, depicting the type of motherhood I imagine myself to be living.  Don’t get me wrong, I looooove gorgeous mommy blogs.  I do.  But that just isn’t my reality these days.

I work full-time.  My husband pulls 12-16 hour work days as a PhD student, teacher, and researcher.  And we’re raising our 11-month-old son Benjamin.

On top of that, I’m a believer – you know, a Christian.  Most Christian mothers who I have idealized and sought to emulate stay at home.  Where does that leave me?  How does what I’m doing – professionally and at home – answer the Lord’s calling on my life to follow Him?

This is where I hash that out, in an attempt to vent and ponder the lunacy and ecstasy that is motherhood.
